I’ve always wanted to become a hairstylist. My Auntie is a hairstylist and I have always looked up to her from a very young age, always asking questions and eager to learn more from her. That’s where it all started. Then throughout the early years of secondary school I was always playing with my friends hair. Sowhen the time came to choose it was an easy decisions for me and I could not wait. Plus you can take this skill with you anywhere in the world which is amazing.
So I saw this brand on social media, and they were originally based in my local town. I saw they were expanding so approached them to see what it was all about. I heard they provided great regular training on new trends and techniques, which my previous salon didn’t. To be honest that’s what I’m all about, learning new techniques, keeping fresh and up to date!
My role at Huckleberry hair is salon co-ordinator. When asked if I would be interested in taking on the role of a salon co-ordinator I was shocked but also really excited as its something I have always aimed to do in my career. Not only do I get to do what I love but I get to help with the running of the salon and help to build our brand even more.
Colouring. I love colour, it’s my go too, I think it can make the cut sometimes.
Hi-lites are my favourite, you can create so many different colours and tones with hi-lites AND you can forever change them up for your client. Having said that, you cant forget the styling at the end, waves and curls I just love and think it’s a must when you come to the hair salon and have something different so everybody notices.
I think 2019 will still be all about the natural look as it’s so low maintenance. Balayage is a flawless look, you can use it to create so many different looks. I love using this technique to brighten things up in throughout the summerand then tone clients back down at the beginning of autumn.
Also blunt bobs and shoulder length length are so in at the moment. Who would have ever thought any girl would cut their long locks after the recent trends but its happening! I’m even thinking of doing it.
So I don’t have a favourite really as there are so many amazing stylist out there. Instagram is where I find all my favourite hair stylists and follow them to get hair envy. I get so much inspiration that helps me create great styles on my future clients.
